Freya Lim

Dance Movement Therapist

Freya is a Provisional Professional Dance Movement Therapist registered with the Dance Therapy Association of Australasia (DTAA). Having experienced the transformative power of Dance Movement Therapy firsthand, she is deeply passionate about supporting adults to reconnect mind and body, cultivate self-awareness, and uncover more about themselves through their body’s unique intelligence.

Alongside her work with adults, Freya holds a Diploma in Special Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE) and brings over eight years of specialized experience within the sector working with neurodivergent children, as well as dedicated clinical work with older adults. This rich background allows her to adapt her methodology across the lifespan, supporting diverse therapeutic goals ranging from emotional regulation and physical mobility to building a positive self-image.

Rooted in a Person-Centered approach, she gently integrates a Gestalt approach to honour local cultural preferences, offering a safe, grounded space where she guides clients through somatic modalities including structured movement, creative improvisation, and props exploration. Her practice draws from established frameworks—including Chace, Laban, Evan, and Tortora—but her ultimate guide is always the organic wisdom of the individual. Known for her warm demeanour, kinesthetic empathy, and a gentle touch of humour when appropriate to lift the space, Freya ensures that every client’s unique expression—whether dynamic or quiet and still—is completely honoured.
