Joelle Choo

Dance Movement Therapist

Joelle graduated from the Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy from Dance Therapy Training Aotearoa. She is a Provisional Professional Member of the Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia (DTAA).

Joelle works with children, youth, and young adults with neurodiverse needs in both individual and group settings. Since beginning her dance movement work in 2022, she has focused on creating spaces where clients can explore connection, expression, and joy through movement. She has also facilitated group sessions with seniors, using movement to support self-expression and social connection. This continues to be an area she hopes to grow in, particularly in supporting older adults to reconnect with their bodies and life experiences in meaningful ways.

Joelle is also interested in working with parents who are seeking playful, movement-based ways to connect with their children. She believes movement offers a powerful way to communicate and build secure, joyful bonds. Her approach is grounded, inclusive, and centred on meeting people where they are—honouring each stage of life through the shared language of movement.
