Tammie Tan

Dance Movement Therapist

Tammie facilitates groups alongside individual movement-based and trauma-informed work. Her practice draws from authentic movement, improvisation, mindfulness, trauma-sensitive principles, somatic inquiry, and movement-based frameworks. She has experience working with people across the lifespan in hospital and community settings, including people navigating mental health challenges, dementia, trauma, caregiving experiences, and neurodivergence.

Tammie believes that stories live in the body, and that movement can create opportunities for experiences to be explored in ways that may not always be easily spoken. She also acknowledges the wider sociocultural systems that influence well-being, recognising that challenges do not emerge in isolation. Through care and curiosity, she seeks to honour the relationships and contexts that shape each person’s experience. She seeks to create spaces where people feel supported in exploring their experiences at a pace that feels meaningful and safe.
